IT Investment Policy-2012
The State has recently announced its New IT Investment Policy-2012 which has been designed to promote e-governance in the State and to attract IT Investments. To attract IT investment into the State, the Policy has provided incentives comparable to the best being offered in the country. This policy aims to develop IT/ITES/EHM as a vibrant industry for inclusive growth and creating employment opportunities for people in the state in the area of Information Technology.
Salient Features of the policy
  • Overall Development in State with special focus on Indore, Gwalior, Bhopal and Jabalpur.
  • IT, ITES, EHM & other allied activities will qualify as Information Technology Industry.
  • Large chunks of land earmarked for Information Technology Investment Area.
  • Pursue for developing Information Technology Investment Region (ITIR) with the help of GOI.
  • Single Window for Project Clearance & Facilitation mechanism
  • Reimbursement of 75% of the cost incurred on securing quality certification (CMM/CMMi/PCMM)
  • The land will be made available at the rate of 25% of the prevalent Collector guideline rate.
  • Minimum number of Engineers/ IT/ITES Professionals hired by a company in order to avail the concession shall be 100 per acre, of which, minimum 50% employment shall be for the persons who are residents of Madhya Pradesh.
  • On case to case basis, Land will be allotted for up to 99 years on lease with provision for further renewal.
  • For providing skill gap trainings to the Engineers/ IT/ ITES Professionals that are domicile of Madhya Pradesh, One time reimbursement will be available to the company, upto 50% of the cost incurred subject to maximum limit of Rs. 10,000 per employee, who are trained by the company within first Two years of commencement of operations.
  • The IT units shall be granted exemption from the provisions of the Madhya Pradesh Shops and Establishment Act 1958 relating to the hours of business and weekly closure by issuing notification under the Act. Women workers shall also be allowed to work 24 hrs. / in 03 shifts subject to the conditions fulfilled by the employers relating to women workers' security and safety at the work place and during the transit.
